- Download the iTalk Softphone, and install following the on screen instructions. You can download the XLite software for Windows, MacOSX or Linux.
- Right click on the screen or press the menu button, and select SIP Account Settings
- Click on Add.
- Type your phone number including country code (64) and area code (9 if Auckland), in the following fields:
a. Display Name
b. User name
c. Authorization user name
The password is your iTalk password for your phone number (available under "Manage My iTalk" in the my Account section).
- Select "Register with domain and receive incoming calls" and select Send outbound via domain.
If you don't know your domain, see the list below.
Click Apply.

- You will now have a SIP account registered. Click Close and exit the program. When you restart the Softphone you are ready to make a call!
Type the number using your mouse curser and press the green button.
Note: dial the number like you would with any other phone
- Cellphone = 021XXXXXX or 027XXXXXX
- Local calls don’t require your area code prefix
- To hang up, press the red button
