
Spam is the unsolicited email that can clutter your mailbox. To combat this we have developed a Spam filter that will apply rules to all email sent to your mailbox. These rules are based on keywords and phrases that commonly appear in unsolicited mail and it also checks the source of the email against a regularly updated Spam blacklist.
If potential Spam is identified our filtering service provides two options;

Message tagging to identify potential Spam in your mailbox. This means you don’t have to waste time opening unwanted mail, you can simply choose to delete or forward these to your Spam folder.
Emails that have been identified criteria will have the following tag in the subject line:
[SPAM+++++]
The higher number of ‘+’ in the subject line, represents a higher likelihood that the message is spam - what could be easier?
- Automatic delivery to a spam folder. Potential Spam is delivered to a folder which is purged regularly. This will allow your inbox to be completely free of annoying messages. Do check your Spam folder however – it may pick up wanted mail from time to time.

If you are an internet customer, simply login to the My Account section of our site and click on Managing my email. Now select the type of Spam protection and choose the level of filtering you require.
