

To boost broadband uptake by New Zealanders and allow them to catch the sailing action of 32nd America's Cup
Auckland, Thursday June 7, 2007 – Slingshot, the Broadband Partner for the Desktop TV website that offers Alcatel-Lucent AmericasCupAnywhere official new media content and services for the 32nd America’s Cup races in Valencia, has announced two great broadband offers to get the public behind supporting the team in black and watching all the action on the water free of charge.
Desktop TV offers dynamic collective news, providing free and subscriber options and includes video, Virtual Eye 3D animated graphics, a virtual host, audio from Peter Montgomery, statistics, entertainment and virtual tours of Valencia.
Slingshot is offering free access to the races if customers simply switch or sign-up for their broadband with Slingshot. The offer applies to customers upgrading from dial-up to experience broadband for the first time or those switching from their an existing broadband service to Slingshot’s service and for existing customers that upgrade their dial-up connections.
A 12 month contract and early termination fee applies to both offers.
