The first mobile customer has jumped across to Slingshot and found a better place! Effective from today, consumers throughout NZ can finally take advantage of lower mobile pricing from their favorite internet provider, Slingshot.
"We have focused on meeting the needs of both mobile prepay and on account customers with some innovative pricing plans. These savings are even bigger when bundled with our internet and home phone services. By offering lower prices, we are trying to encourage customers to use their mobiles without the fear of nasty bills each month. In a market that charges customers up to 90 cents per minute to make a call from your mobile, the time for change is now," says Mark Callander, the General Manager of Slingshot and CallPlus.
Slingshot’s MoreTalk plan is designed to appeal to prepay and casual on-account customers with a low monthly plan charge of just $10 a month. Customers can send up to 600 texts to any network for $12.95 a month or 2000 texts to Slingshot and Vodafone customers for just $9.95. On the MoreTalk plan, more talking equals more savings. The first minute of every call is 50 cents, the second minute is only 40 cents, and if the call is longer than 2 minutes the rate drops to just 30 cents a minute for the rest of the call. A 3 minute call is only 90 cents - about what prepay customers pay today per minute!
"We’ve had tremendous interest and feedback during the pre-launch to our existing customers. People are definitely jumping over to Slingshot Mobile," says Callander.
Slingshot’s killer plan is MegaTalk, and as the name suggests it is designed for frequent mobile users. The plan costs just $20 a month and features a flat per minute calling rate of 25 cents a minute - the lowest per minute price available to all networks in NZ. Customers can also add text bundles based on their usage.
"Slingshot has taken away the guessing game and doesn’t penalize you when you call people on another network. It’s easy, honest, and great value" adds Callander.
"The exciting aspect of our mobile offering is the additional One Bill Benefits you get if you have all your home services with Slingshot," continues Callander. "If customers have their home line, calling, and broadband with Slingshot they will get 2GB of free broadband each month for every mobile connection and a lower land to mobile calling rates: just 25 cents per minute. This won’t be beaten!"
A range of mobile devices can be purchased directly from Slingshot at discounted prices, or customers can use their existing SIM card-ready phone.
