
Installation of your Slingshot MAX service will require a visit from one of our installers and will take 2-3 hours. You will need to be home while the installer connects your service as they will need access to inside your home. We’ll supply everything you need to get connected and manage the entire process.
There is a connection fee of $149 for the Slingshot MAX service, this includes the full installation along with two wireless digital phones for your house.
What will happen during the connection of your Slingshot MAX wireless service?
1. You sign up for Slingshot MAX and nominate your preferred installation time.
2. We'll contact you to confirm you installation time and your site details, this will include the area in your house tat you ould like your service connected.
3. Our installer will visit your propert and install a small antenna on your home that receives and transmits to our nearest wireless base station. Before installing the antenna your installer will test your property to ensure that you have sufficient coverage. You won't be charged anything if we're unable to provide service.
4. Next, your installer will install your Slingshot MAX adaptor where you requested and connect it to the antenna.
5. The installer will connect your PC to MAX broadband.
6. We will create your Slingshot account at our end and if you're keeping your home phone number we'll have it ported across to your new Slingshot MAX phone line so you can start making calls!


The $149 joining fee includes:
- Installation of the WiMAX antenna on your home
- Installation of your Slingshot MAX Adapter
- Installation of your two wireless digital phones
- Connection of a single PC to the Slingshot MAX network or configuration of your Slingshot MAX Broadband modem to connect to the Slingshot MAX network

A wiring charge may apply if you have special wiring requirements, for example if you have a monitored home alarm. This charge is in addition to the joining fee and is to be negotiated directly with your installer.

That is no problem – we will simply port your number across to your new Slingshot Max service. Your Telecom line will automatically be disconnected once the transfer is complete. Please do not contact Telecom and request your line be disconnected – if you do we cannot transfer your number.

We will supply two wireless digital phones with your installation. The phone base station will be directly connected to our equipment but you can install the 2nd handset at any location within your home as long as it is in range. You can purchase additional handsets if required. Remember that you will have access to the FREE Slingshot MAX phone line features such as voicemail and call forwarding so answer phones will no longer be necessary.

- Single PC
If you only want to connect one PC to the MAX Broadband service then choose the Single PC connection option. You will not need any additional equipment to connect to MAX Broadband.
- Multiple PCs
If you have a home network or want to connect more than 1 PC to MAX broadband then you will need a broadband router. Slingshot does not currently supply wireless MAX routers*. Please note that the multiple PC option on Slingshot MAX will not work with a modem, or modem-router.
