Global roaming is available in over 215 destinations and all Slingshot mobile customers can turn on roaming just by giving us a call on 0800 89 2000. Just so you know, to activate roaming we will require a credit card loaded against your account.
That way its hassle free when you arrive at your new destination. With roaming turned on, your phone will automatically find a compatible network, simply pick one (we recommend choosing Vodafone) and you’ll be able make and receive calls and TXTs straight away.
Data roaming is also available for over 84 destinations.
If you’re already overseas, call us on +64 9 929 1090 and we’ll do our best to get you up and running as quickly as possible. Please note it can take up to two business days to activate roaming.
A few things;
- Rates can change without notice
This is simply due to the amount of networks that are available worldwide, and the time it takes for us to receive changes from all the different providers.
- It costs to receive calls and make them
Because of the complexity of roaming, it costs more to deliver and receive calls.
- You’ll need to update your contacts list
Just make sure the numbers in your mobile use the format
+64 28 258 67897. That way you can dial them just as easily within New Zealand or from anywhere in the world. Just replace the first zero of a number with +64:
- 04 321 6789 becomes +64 4 321 6789
- 028 258 6789 becomes +64 28 258 67897
